Kristen Blucher is an Associate Attorney with Ziegler Law Group, LLC. Kristen is licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey.

Kristen received her Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude in English from Rutgers University. While in law school, Kristen gained significant experience as a student attorney serving low-income clients in the greater Boston area through positions in the Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School, Boston University Immigrants’ Rights & Human Trafficking Clinic, and Harvard Legal Aid Bureau. Kristen achieved several victories in these positions, including overturning a denial of disability benefits for a wrongfully-discharged LGBTQ veteran, securing a T-Visa for a survivor of labor trafficking, and negotiating a marital settlement agreement that provided long-term housing for a disabled client. Kristen also served as staff editor and articles editor on the American Journal of Law & Medicine.

Kristen served as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. John P. McDonald, J.S.C., Family Part, Somerset County for the 2020-2021 term. Kristen assisted Judge McDonald by researching various legal issues, preparing motion orders, and managing divorce, non-dissolution, and domestic violence proceedings. In this position, Kristen gained significant knowledge pertaining to the workings of the judiciary as well as substantive family law.

Since entering private practice, Kristen has exclusively practiced family law and has experience handling a variety of matters including divorce, child custody, pre- and post-judgment motion practice, mediation, adoption, domestic violence, contested Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA) matters, and appellate practice.

Kristen’s background in legal aid and client-centered lawyering makes her particularly adept at helping clients navigate emotionally taxing times in their lives. Kristen understands the unique challenges clients face in family law matters and approaches every case with empathy, attention to detail, and devotion to meeting the client’s objectives.

Originally from New Jersey, Kristen lives in Bedminster with her husband and two dogs.
