Family Law and Domestic Violence Experience

Emily’s practice is centered on family law and domestic violence matters in New Jersey. She brings significant litigation experience to her work, including experience handling and trying domestic violence matters in multiple counties throughout the state.

Before joining Ziegler Law Group LLC, Emily represented survivors of domestic violence through her work with a nonprofit organization. In that role, she successfully handled and tried numerous domestic violence cases throughout:

• Essex County;
• Hudson County;
• Middlesex County;
• Passaic County;
• Union County;

This experience gave Emily a strong understanding of the legal, procedural, and personal challenges that can arise in domestic violence proceedings. It also reinforced her longstanding dedication to advocacy and access to justice.

New Jersey Superior Court Clerkship

During the 2020–2021 court term, Emily served as the law clerk to the Honorable Nina C. Remson, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, Family Part, Bergen County.

Her judicial clerkship provided valuable insight into New Jersey family court proceedings and the issues presented in matters involving individuals, parents, children, and families. The experience also strengthened her understanding of courtroom procedure, legal analysis, and the practical application of New Jersey family law.

Education and Commitment to Advocacy

Emily earned undergraduate degrees in History and Women’s and Gender Studies from Rutgers University.

She later received her Juris Doctor from New York Law School. While attending law school, Emily served as President of the New York Law School Domestic Violence Project. Her leadership in that organization reflected an early and continuing commitment to supporting survivors of domestic violence and expanding access to legal advocacy.

Emily’s academic background, judicial clerkship, and litigation experience have shaped a legal practice focused on helping individuals and families address serious and deeply personal legal concerns.
